5. TRUSH  HUNTING  IN  SOUTHERN  ROMANIA

 

The fieldfare,this “traveler though the fields” is a stongly migratory bird moving south during the winter,concentrating in the vecinity of the forests.Most of the hunted birds are TURDUS PILARIS but during the hunt some other subspecies are to be found.It is very important that the habitat where these species are in migration offers good shelter in the forest but also resources of food in the forests areas.Leftovers of grapes,wild berries form the preferential food for the trushes.Cold winters in the north of  Romania produce a large migration of trushes in the southern part of the country.Therefore the best recommended period is the one when snow and cold temperature arrives.Very important for this type of hunt are the calling devices which can bring the birds very close to the hunter.So we suggest that YOU WILL BRING YOUR OWN CALLING DEVICE for the hunt.

DAY BY DAY PROGRAM

Day 1 Arrival Bucharest airport and minibus transfer to southern of Romania. Cocktail information  and  evening dinner.

Day 2 Breakfast and trush hunting hunting until noon time.Lunch. In the afternoon will go  partige hunt with pointing dogs. We are using different species of field dogs (hungarian viszlas, pointers, german kurtzhaar). Dinner

Day 3 Breakfast and trush hunting until noon time. Lunch. This afternoon will go again for partridge hunt with our dogs. Dinner.

Day 4 Breakfast and trush hunting until noon time. Lunch. Late afternoon trush hunt. Dinner.

Day 5 Breakfast and transfer to Bucharest airport.
